Feeling festive in July…

You might think, did I actually read the title correct? Yes, you certainly did! Call me crazy, but I’m getting more and more excited for Autumn and Christmas every day. And yes, I do know that it’s only July, but that’s just who I am. I’ve always been more of an Autumn/Winter kinda gal, and even though I can definitely enjoy Summer, I much rather prefer when the leaves turn golden, the temperature gets cold, and when I hear the soothing sound of the rain on my window.

Even today, which was a perfect hot Summer day, I couldn’t really be bothered to sit outside and soak up the sun. If you think about it, it is ridiculous but I can’t help it. I did try, set up a chair outside, grabbed my sunnies and a book. Rather sooner than later I ended up back inside. I don’t know what’s wrong with me… like seriously, all throughout January, February, and March (which, in my opinion, are the worst months of the year) I longed for Spring and Summer and now that it’s finally here I’m like move over Summer, get outa here!

I think this might be happening so early this year because I already got back from my – wonderful – Summer holiday. Usually, when I get back home from vacation I start longing for Autumn and Christmas. Since I went on holiday pretty early this year, I already feel like this now. It’s not really new to me, I have this each year. Just not in July, more like at the end of August, which I think is pretty acceptable since the month after is actually the start of Autumn…

I know I’m not the only one though. There probably lot’s of autumn and Christmas lovers out there. Zoe, or Zoella, is one of them. I actually saw a vlog of Alfie today where he caught Zoe buying a Christmas tree online. It made me so happy. See… I’m not the only one who is so crazy about the season ahead of us.¬†I actually haven’t listened to any Christmas songs, or watched any Christmas films… yet! But I have watched some of Zoe’s Vlogmas from last year, I just couldn’t help myself. And it might not take me that long before I do watch a Christmas film, because why the hell not.

But before it’s time for Christmas, it’s time for Autumn first. Which is, alongside, Christmas my favourite time of year. Like I said, I love all the colours outside, the cold, and even the rain (only when I’m at home though). I actually prefer when the days get shorter and when it gets dark outside really early – even if it’s terrible for taking blog/Instagram¬†pictures. I just love the coziness of Autumn. I can’t wait for those cold nights when I can wrap up underneath a blanket, drink giant mugs of cinnamon and apple tea, eat freshly baked apple pie, read a book, burn a candle and listen to some nice music. And of course, not to forget, my Birthday… which is in October.

And then it’s time for Christmas. Which again I absolutely love. Although I have to say I prefer the time leading up to Christmas then actual Christmas. Just the excitement of it all; getting a Christmas tree, watching people’s Vlogmas, decorating the house, listening to Christmas music, all the decorations out on the streets and in the stores. I basically love everything about Christmas. Some people might find it silly, but I just think it’s the best thing ever.

For now, I guess I just have to suck it up and try to enjoy the rest of Summer – while I still can. Tomorrow, or today as you are reading this, is expected to be another hot and sunny day. Let me promise you now that I’ll do my best to spend some time outside and enjoy the sun.

Any other Autumn/Christmas lovers out there?

Met dit weer kan ik er nog even niet aan denken, maar met regenbuien denk ik inderdaad alweer verlangend naar alle mooie lichtjes, warme kleedjes, lekker eten en de gezelligheid rondom kerst!
